Barfield Making a Run for Pikes Peak in the NASCAR Busch Series

Barfield failed to qualify in the top 38 for Saturday's NASCAR Busch
Series race. As for a provisional (the last five spots), the new car
number he was using apparently carried with it fewer points than
those who did make it in by provisional points.
TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. -- July 30, 2004 --
Ron Barfield is making the journey to Colorado to run in the Goulds Pumps/ITT Industries 250 NASCAR Busch Series
race at Pikes Peak on July 31, 2004. It will air on TNT (TV) & MRN (radio) live at 3:30 pm
EST. This will mark the 8th time he has represented Perfection Clutch, Brute
Power and ZOOM Performance Clutches in the NASCAR Busch Series and
the first time for 2004. He represented Perfection at Darlington
(both races), Nazareth, Dover, Milwaukee, New Hampshire and Richmond
in 2003. His best finishes were 21st in the Spring Darlington race
and 25th at Richmond, the last race he ran.

If he makes the field, this will be Ron's 30th career Busch Series
start. He has had two top ten finishes in this series, both coming
in 1997. Ron also competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series from
1996 to 2001. He ran two full seasons in 1998 and 1999. He competed
in 71 races during this time span and recorded 4 top five and 17 top
ten finishes. Also, he has competed in one NASCAR Nextel Cup race
which came in 1997 at the Brickyard 400 in a car owned by Bill
Elliot. He finished 22nd.
